Toronto Rock 10, Calgary Roughnecks 13, Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ON

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our seventh year going to the games and our sixth year having seasons tickets.

This afternoon the Rock were hosting the Calgary Roughnecks.

It was Kids' Day (kids got in for free) and there were lots of mascots from other Toronto sports wandering around.

I was wandering around looking for more mascots when I ran into our pals, Malcolm and Mary.  They had bought tickets this morning so it was a nice surprise to see them.

Because it was Kids' Day, there were activities for kids like face painting.

We got there early enough to watch the teams warm up.

Here are Gord and I.

The Centre Wellington Mohawks held the Canadian flag while Northview Height SS Jazz Choir sang the national anthem.

The Rock players huddled before the game started.

And the game began ...

Here's the view from our seats ...

The red-wig guys were there (as usual).

At the end of the first quarter, the score was tied 3 - 3.

DJ Sweet Lou provided the tunes during the game.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained.

Everyone loves Iggy and Iggy loves everyone!

I'm assuming these guys were fans of Roughneck player, Mitch Wilde.

At the end of the first half, Calgary was winning 9 - 7.

During halftime, the mascots supported kids who had a competition to get a ball in the net.

The second half began ...

Iggy made his way back into our section.

He's not shy about flashing his abs

The Rock Cheerleaders were back.

At the end of the third quarter, Calgary was winning 11 - 9.

The prize for the 50/50 draw was over $7,300.

Alas, we didn't win.

The attendance at today's game was almost 8,000.

Toronto lost 13 - 10.

The players shook hands.

The Rock players thanked their fans for coming out.
