Love the Winter knitted hat

I found this pattern on a Canadian Facebook knitting group and thought it was cute.  You can find the pattern and sizes here (I made a large adult one).


I used black Red Heart Super Saver 4 ply yarn as colour A, Plum Bernat Cozy Style 4 ply yarn as colour B and 5mm circulate and double pointed needles.
  • Cast on 96 stitches onto needle in colour A.
  • Ribbing colour A - *k2, p2* repeat until end of round for a total of 10 rounds 
  • Knit 13 rounds in colour A
  • Knit hearts pattern:

  • Knit 13 rounds in colour B

Decrease:
  • Rnd 1: *k10, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 2: knit around 
  • Rnd 3: *k9, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 4: knit around 
  • Rnd 5: *k8, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 6: knit around 
  • Rnd 7: *k7, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 8: knit around 
  • Rnd 9: *k6, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 10: knit around 
  • Rnd 11: *k5, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 12: knit around 
  • Rnd 13: *k4, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 14: knit around 
  • Rnd 15: *k3, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 16: *k2, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 17: *k1, k2tog* repeat until end of round 
  • Rnd 18: *k2tog* for entire round 
  • Cut yarn and pull through remaining stitches
  • Weave in ends
