Knitted baby booties

Gord's son and his son's girlfriend are going to have a baby in the spring.  I'd knitted them a baby blanket a couple weeks ago.  I've never made baby booties before but I thought I'd give them a try.

I used cotton yarn and 5mm needles.

Cast on 26 stitches. Knit 10 rows in garter stitch (knitting every row).  Bind off the first ten 10 stitches of the next row and finish knitting the row.  Bind off the first ten 10 stitches of the next row and finish knitting the row.  This leaves you with six stitches in the middle.  Knit 20 rows in garter stitch and bind off.

Take one side of the upper part of the T and place it on top of the bottom of the T forming the toe.

Take the other side of the T" and place it on top of the toe.  Sew the bootie together at the toe and the sides. .

Turn the bootie inside out when you're finished.
