Coronation Park, Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail and Garrison Crossing, Toronto, ON

It's sunny and fairly warm today.  I hadn't been on a big walk to Coronation Park or Trillium Park in a while so off I went!

I headed south to Coronation Park.  It's always a good sign that summer is coming when the boats start coming out again into the water.

I kept going to Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail ... I love this park and trail!

The Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail is 7.5 acres of public green space on a spectacular part of Toronto’s waterfront. Previously a parking lot, it’s now full of life, ready to be enjoyed by morning joggers, picnic-goers, strolling families and everyone in between.

The 1.3 kilometre trail is named in honour of Bill Davis, who was the Premier when Ontario Place first opened in 1971. It’s surrounded by thousands of native trees, plants, flowers and beautiful sedimentary rocks and boulders. Inspired by the Ontario landscape itself, the park was designed in consultation with people from across Ontario, including the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. It’s a breathtaking tribute to our province and a gift to the people who love it.

Then I headed northeast to Garrison Crossing bridge near Fort York.

Months ago I had signed up for the Under Armour Spring Run-Off 5km walk taking place in High Park on April 9. I had signed up to do it virtually as I knew I’d be in Cuba on run/walk day. I had good intentions of doing it before and then after that date but time got away from me. So today is the day!  I hit 5km and earned my medal and shirt as I was getting on the Garrison Crossing bridge. 

I saw this cute dog in a second story window as I was walking along King Street E heading for home.  I remember when the other dog used to be in the window often.
