Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland

Gord and I explored the Edinburgh Castle in the rain but it didn’t dampened our spirits!

I tried to buy tix online this morning using VISA but my bank wanted to send me a text or call to verify the purchase and I can’t get calls or texts since I’m out of Canada. There were tix available for this afternoon but when we got there, they were sold out for the day. We happened to chat with a couple who suggested we check with a hop on hop off bus driver and he had tix. Whoohoo!

Edinburgh Castle is a historic castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. It stands on Castle Rock, which has been occupied by humans since at least the Iron Age, although the nature of the early settlement is unclear. There has been a royal castle on the rock since at least the reign of David I in the 12th century and the site continued to be a royal residence until 1633. From the 15th century, the castle's residential role declined and by the 17th century it was principally used as military barracks with a large garrison.
